Crooks

Went today to buy some tickets for tomorrow. Was told they were sold out for tomorrow but I could buy a season pass (double the price of a one day ticket) and that I could still come in.
Went back home and bought tickets online for tomorrow (as normally planned) and no sold out issue.

Enjoyable family experience
Aug 2019 • Family
My son is 12, he had an absolute blast (excuse the pun), although I think he and his older brother, who wasn't with us, would have enjoyed it even more when they were younger, I wish we had visited sooner as we've driven past it so often! 8-10 year old kids would be ideal. I don't know if adults on their own would enjoy it so much though. Whilst you don't need to have French to enjoy it (there are audio options), it does help a bit.

An educational theme park based on volcanoes
Jul 2019 • Family
This theme park is absolutely only for the kids. This is a theme park based on volcanoes and how volcanoes evolved, died and every other information which can be told to the kids. There are many engaging aspects with information from across the world and few 3D-5D movies. The so called rides are nothing but the 5D movies. This is good considering that Auvergne is built in a volcanic region.

Volcanic Theme Park Mainly for Families with Children.
Jun 2019 • Friends
The concept is good as an educational theme park specialising mainly in the volcanic activity of the Auvergne, but also exploring other natural phenomena. Most of the effort and money has been spent on themed rides rather than education, which makes it better for families with children under the age of 12 or 13, perhaps they would give a score of 4 or 5? If you are visiting as a party of adults as we were, we found Vulcania too dumbed down, particularly considering the high entry fee. The bistro and restaurant offer quite good food but as you would expect, a little on the expensive side.

An exhilarating way of learning geology
Jun 2019 • Family
I visited Vulcania with my wife and my 10-year-old son. All three of us greatly enjoyed this place. We arrived at 10 AM and only left when the park was closing. It is a great way to learn a lot about volcanoes, earthquakes, chemistry, geology and legends linked to them. Every attraction teaches you something while being a lot of fun. I think this place can be enjoyed by children and adults equally. They really know how to explain complex things with clarity and a lot of fun.

I don't understand why there are so many negative comments. They almost turned me off. I'm glad I followed my instinct. If all you want is making adrenaline-filled rides, go to Disneyland. This place is about educating yourself while having fun.

A nice experience with my daughter
Aug 2018 • Family
Having spent 7 weeks road tripping throughout Southern Europe, Auvergne was our last région visited and Vulcania à place to visit for my daughter who had just studied Vilcanoes at school. We arrived early and spent 12 hours in the park which was worth it. Many interesting attraction (not the usual one in so many other entertainment parks) based on earth catastrophic but real events. We finished up our day with a wonderful light, sound and fireworks show until rain poured but we spent a great day. This park is to be recommended for people who want to learn about Mother Earth and not only ride roller coaster.👍👍👍

I don’t recommend at all
Jul 2018 • Family
I’ll start with the only good points: staff us very nice and the site is very clean.
Other than that there was nobody there (which was already a sign), we didn’t have to wait in line. Rides (if we can call that rides) are very outdated, films are old and bad quality. Nothing interressant there. I wasted 150€ !!! There were 7 of us from 11 to 31 and no one liked it! We left the park at 2:00....

Full of Wonder
Jun 2018 • Couples
I finally made it to this centre of Vulcanology built in a mountain side. You will need about 6 hours to explore the different galleries, experience earthquakes and tsunami, ride a lava flow and much much more.
This is not an amusement park, it’s an educational centre with a flair. Several well behaved school classes where there.
Well worth the fee (adult: Euro25 but cheaper if you pre buy online).
Good selection in cafeteria if a little on the expensive side. Plenty of space inside or out for a picnic if you bring your own food.

Worth the visit
Jun 2018 • Couples
We went off season so it was quiet and waiting times minimal. We enjopyed it all once we had got the hang of the layout. Lots of school visits but no problem. The car park is enormous and suggests that what we did in half a day might need two days and lots of patience in high season.
