We drove past signs for this on the autoroute between Moulins and The Dordogne and thought "Why not? Can't think of a volcano museum we can go to in the UK!" When we arrived it was teeming and is obviously a must see in this slightly surreal area of extinct volcanoes: we went with the flow!! Until we got to... More

Went for a second time with my daughter and her boyfriend. It was a nice hot day and we had a fairly good time. Be warned, it is nothing like the theme parks the Brits are used to. It is educational, but most of the rides are not very thrilling. If you don't speak french it can be a bit... More

Went there mid August. Queues were at least 45 minutes for all attractions, rides typically take 6 to 8 minutes - air balloon had a 75 minute queue. Even though I speak fluent French, my kids do not, English is very poorly covered, many of the attractions are only in French. The headset translation of the films is useless as... More

We were going on a 4pad trip across France and we planned to stay in this part of France since Vulcania was recommended by a friend as a must-visit for the kids. The place was packed but it is a huge park and there are many things to do and see. Very educating but if your kids don't speak French... More

Not Eurodisney bit it doesn't claim to be. It is a highly interesting place for adults to visit while it keeps children and teenagers entertained for hours. w heave been every year since it opened, our kids have grown up now but still enjoy the rides. go early though can be packed during french school hols so he prepared for... An interesting and entertaining park. Enough to see and do for more than one day. A bit awkward with kids under 5 due to some amusements being age-limited. Outdoor parts not all suitable for disabled people.

Vulcania seems to aim at teaching the visitors about volcanism and related topics and there are some very interesting displays and activities on the theme. Unfortunately it hasn't resisted adding a lot of dinosaurs and even some dragons to the mix. This and other details leaves a feeling of lack of focus. Support for visitors who's native language isn't french... More

I was there during the rainy day. The most of its treasures are under roof. In the same time two the most exciting ones located outside. It's dinosaurs animatronics and balloon. The last one was not in operation due to weather conditions. It's quite big compared to the other ones I've seen so far. So the internal excitements are worthy... More

We were amazed at how quiet this attraction was at the end of August. Suited us down to the ground though. Don't expect theme park rides - this is an interactive museum. Lots of information but not overload. A lot of thought has gone into the construction and 'experiences'. We borrowed audio guides at the entrance; couldn't have done without... More
