I just couldn't believe such quiet & nice place to be so closely surrounded by bars & night clubs...modern live? The small Orthodox church on the left is worth a visit, very cosy & simple. Music included, and no entrance fee. Nice!

Something different especially if you're only used to hearing about clubbing in Ayia Napa. Its a nice little place to have a cool down as mostly covered.

This is probably the only original place that reminds at the little village that ayia napa once was. It's beautiful to see. Special construction. Beautiful little church with old ikoons. Very sober like it has to be. In the very touristic place that ayia napa became, it's wonderful to still have such a place

It is the best known landmark of the village and the surrounding area. Right in the heart of the club and bar district the Monastery of Ayia Napa (1500 A.D) offers a haven of tranquility in this lively resort and definitely is worth a visit. The Church is partly built underground and cut into the rock. The well of the... More

This is in the center of Ayia Napa and is interesting to wander through the walls and into the small chapel/church.

Worth a look around with the kids have a selection of Christmas scenes with lovely orange trees. The monastery helps you remember the old days.

Circa. 1500 AD In the centre of Ayia Napa, just below the entrance to nightlife street, stands the magnificent 16th Century Monastery, built to mark the spot where an icon of The Virgin Mary, ‘Our Lady of the Forests’ was found, and btw its how Ayia Napa gets its name ... At the top of the steps, just before the... More

Just near the square you find a piece of history. This charming monetary is very romantic place, when you enter the yard and look around you feel like you travel back in time. Beautiful little church built in old house made of rock. Highly recommended (!)

Very intriguing insight into the original history of Ayia Napa. Raising further interest are the closed off areas and doors, definitely a lot more to find out there. If you're a video games fan like Tomb Raider, you'll definitely see where the inspiration comes from. Nothing to lose.
