Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The good: Exhibition in itself was excellent and very comprehensive.
The bad: Customer service ticket counter was appallingly bad and rude. The old "lady" was unloading her bad mood on us and was clearly cranky and spiky when I asked which kind of ticket we should get when we intended to visit the Armor museum also.
Perhaps she's a former government employee? Anyhow, I'd recommend actually hiring someone with an idea on how to serve customers and let this lady sail away to retirement already.

The museum exhibits artillery and history of wars and defense forces. The indoor and outdoor exhibitions are very elaborated. The Not a must visit place but very interesting none the less. If you plan to visit this along with the Häme castle get the combo ticket to save some money.

The museum makes excellent impression. On three floors of the building of the former barracks and on the open area so many exhibits are collected that they give more exhaustively an idea of military history of Finland.

edstvut with real samples of the weapon and military equipment.
The description of wars which were waged by Finland deserves attention, it is unexpectedly objective and reliable.
The museum deserves obligatory attention.

This museum was a last minute choice when the chocolate factory visit did not work out. We should have allowed a lot more time for this attraction and the others nearby.
The director of the museum greeted us personally and explained the overview of the museum and that it has recently been reorganized to expand the focus from just artillery to military with additional focus on signals and communication. It is an excellent history museum and if you have time to read all the explanations in English, you will learn a lot about the stalwart Finns. And if you like guns, you will be ecstatic. They are everywhere. There are 3 floors inside. They got warmer and stuffier as you went up, so we moved outside quickly. There is a building of hands on experiences. Try on armor both modern and ancient. Check out the cross bow. The docent made sure we understood this was the place where touching is strongly encouraged. Another building is full of more guns. Outside, there are guns galore and a few other military vehicles. The property has the castle on one side and the river on another. Gazing over the peaceful countryside is very thought provoking.
There is a great buffet lunch, well attended by locals, in the museum. It had all the traditional buffet fare with the best potatoes I'd had on our 18 days in Finland. Best of all, it cost less than 9 Euros each.

Worth of a visit. Gives a modern exhibition of the military history of Finland. Rare artillery pieces. Many documentary movies from the battles of the FDF in the WW II. In close vicinity is the medieval Häme Castle.

Excellent War Museum, which focuses on the history of Finnish artillery. It`s specially are for example a german coding equipment Enigma, that was used in World War II in u-boats.
Museum has also the coffin of field Marshall C.G. Mannerheim, who was the leader of Finnish army in World War II.

I am not a military buff (my son really likes this stuff). But this place was laid out and explained really well...and actually made the military stuff intesting. Highlights were the decoding devices and the huge outdoor artillery section

I visited this with my 8 and 10 year old. I found the exhibits and stories excellent and would happily have spent several more hours slowly meandering through. The exhibits all have good English interpretations although the staff do not.
For those with kids in tow, be warned there isn't much hands-on stuff to keep them occupied, and that will limit the time you can spend there. Still, it is a good museum and reasonably priced.

A lot of history in one place, a wonderful experience for anyone interested. Three floors + outside comes with mostly Finnish but also other language signs. Value for money as well as you can buy a joint ticket with a few other things.

Last summer I finally paid a visite for Museo Militaria and it was worth every penny and time. There's a wide range of history, old weapons and war equipment. In the outside area there's old artillery etc.. I also recommend short movies played inside.
