We have been to Hämeenlinna many times and mostly our visit was limited to Häme castle and centre. But our friends (who had moved here) took us around this area and that is when we realized that there is more in Hämeenlinna than just the castle. We were so surprised that we planned our next visit and stayed in a hotel just to explore the city and surrounding region. This regions has something to offer to people of all ages and preference. The options include golf course, nature trail, forests, lake, parks, adventure, observation tower, boat riding and so on. The area can be easily explored by car or bicycle.

I had ventured through the woods and up to this magnificent sight around 8.30am after I had eaten breakfast. I am so happy I did at this time as I was all alone. The walk there was lovely, peaceful and pretty. Very relaxing. When I got to the top the tower was under some maintenance but that wasn't an issue as what I came to see was still available. I was so wowed in person. Its great on pics but epic in person. Made me feel so happy, so alive. Its really hard to explain but I'm sure many others will feel it too! If you're in the area and don't see this....it will be a huge regret.

Love it. Amazing place for a walk in the woods with lots of hidden things to find. Went on a family walk for a few hours in the sun and it was much more than we expected. Highly recommended. Will go again.
