The exhibition is located in the Verkatehdas area in an old building that has been totally renovated. When you are inside you can enjoy the versatility of the space.
Upstairs is, until the end of January 2020 an exhibition with artwork, both own and borrowed.
Unfortunately the pieces of art have been placed very low from the floor. Hence taller people and also “normal” length, need to kneel in front of the paintings.

The paintings are nice, no problem with them.

This museum is located near the center of Hämeenlinna, on the other side of the river. The museum operates in two buildings in the Verkatehdas area. The exhibitions feature both older Finnish art and the latest contemporary art.

We had only time to visit the other building with the Noco exhibition. We are not huge fans of modern art and this exhibition did not turn us as such. Maybe the exhibitions in the other building would have been more interesting to us.

The summer exhibition offers right now an interesting selection of Nordic contemporary art with the first visit in Finland, Nordic Contemporary Art Collection – NoCo. Very impressive works, paintings, sculpture and also video/multimedia production. The museum has two exhibitions in separate buildings, this NoCo is a must to see, but you can also visit the collection of Finnish art of 1960s and 1970s.

I went to see the Werner Holmberg Exhibition and was quite impressed by it. The museum is of reasonable size and can be pretty fully explored in a few hours. Everything is tidy and the personnel very helpful and friendly.

It is nora very big museum. There are two buildings and we spent about 1hour here. There was an exhibition of some Finnish artists at that time, which was nice to see.

This Art Museum is brilliant, it has a good collection of Finnish Modern Art plus when we were there two very good Exhibitions on. It is set in two buildings near the main bridge, one of which was an old granary store. The works are beautifully presented with good captions. The staff are very friendly, helpful and well informed. It would have been even better if their catalogues had been in English, it seems a shame that the Finnish Artists are not well known outside of Finland and having books in English would help.
