What an excellent mini-detour. Off the Busselton - Bunbury highway without losing miles. This short drive shows off the remnants of an extensive coastal forest of Tuart. The trees were harvested for their very dense timber and were cleared for agriculture. They are unique to the limestone coastal environment of Western Australia.

A pleasant drive on sealed road just off main highway. Some great views of isolated Tuart Forrest however a little underwhelming

Just past Capel on the way to Busselton the Tuart Forest Drive is signposted on the right. The distance is about the same as the bypass but the drive is so much nicer. Magnificent Tuart trees, very little traffic, no big trucks and a truly delightful taste of nature in all it's grandeur

The Ludlow Tuart Forest is adored by nature lovers. With it's tall tuart trees, kangaroos and other nocturnal native animals it is simply beautiful. I suggest just packing a picnic, finding a spot and sitting and enjoying the sounds of the bush while keeping your eyes open for the kangaroos.

Worth taking a few minutes extra to leave the main highway and enjoy this very pleasant alternative route to Busselton/Port Geographe.

Kangaroos, parakeets, magpies, crows and just getting away from things and flies. Drive slowly at dusk and dawn for kangaroos

This is such a gorgeous drive and far more interesting than sticking to the main highway from Capel to Busselton. These lovely old tuarts are majestic. Be careful on this road though as many of the trees are very close to the edge of the road. At night and at dusk and early in the morning, there are lots of... More

Interesting drive through with lovely tall trees. Not much else to see but worth a visit if you can't get to Pemberton.
