We live very close so walk the hairy one daily. The gardens are beautifully laid out and well tended by the crew, headed by Yves. There is something for everyone here with a large oval which is off-leash for dogs; it is also used for Opera and Spring into Gardening Festivals. There are various lawns where people can picnic, sunbathe... More

This is a lovely garden, with seats and covered areas, and a walking path surrounding the doggie oval where the dogs can play and run while being supervised. The only drawback is that the oval gets a bit muddy after rain as it is sunken. Highly recommended. If you can be bothered queuing, there's a cafe outside the gate populated... More

it's such a nice place to go, I would say that is a must do in Melbourne. The park is very beautiful, with many types of gardens and landscapes, so it's a perfect sport to take pictures. Free entry

Found these great gardens on my walk from Armadale Station along High Street to Chapel Street, great to sit and have coffee (none sold inside gardens) and watch the dogs socialize and play in the exposed centre. Lots of shade and even found the circular garden with Gymea Lilies. How beautiful. Can walk through to Murray Street and continue walk... More

These gardens are a peaceful spot to relax with enough room for the youngsters to also run and play. Stonnington City Council hold events in the park such as gardening events which attract large but comfortable size crowds from the local area. If you live in the area you should pay these pleasant gardens a visit.

Victoria Gardens is very well maintained. Lot of greenery and flowers. Clean pathways too. One side war memorial worth a visit for photo shoots. Better visit on weekends. Open whole day

A beautiful park in the heart of Prahran with a lovely olde world atmosphere. What a terrible policy to allow dogs at all --- let alone just loose. What everyone seems to forget is that these "pets" are animals that regularly maul, bit, traumatize and severely injure children and vulnerable adults, who are, contrary to what their owners stridently say,... It's on the tramline, which was important, and a nice park to chillout with a picnic. We were there to watch the free opera and it was amazing. Bravo to whoever organised that for the community.
