Perfect for a stroll with kids in prams oldies or any age really.. Paths smooth and easily walked, mostly flat.. There is a road and cars were driving through the gardens as well, which I thought was a bit odd when I was giving junior time out of the pram.. But saves walking, I guess. Easy parking and wonderful vista... More

We came here on the recommendation of the folks at the Colac Visitory Information Centre. It was well worth it! We'd seen many gardens already in our trip to Australia, but this was very impressive on this beautiful day. It was a weekday afternoon, which helped, as there were very few people enjoying the gardens. It is quite a nice... More

There was a lot of different areas in the gardens and wide paths that allowed for people on bikes to also enjoy the space.

Nice old botanic gardens right by lake Colac. We visited during the winter months but I'm sure during spring time it would become even more beautiful with all the flowers blooming. Quite a nice walk around the gardens if you are interested in horticulture on a small scale. Most of the walk would be wheelchair accessible.

Weather wasn't great with it being winter but it was very interesting reading the information on the trees and the bushes. Would return in Summer.

These Gardens celebrated 150 years in 2015 and they are, still as beautiful as ever. They must be one of the last drive threw gardens I know, yes that is right if you want to show them off to someone that could not walk the distance then why not drive them around the gardens. The cafe is a perfect place... More

What a beautiful and peaceful spot to simply relax and take in some wonders of nature. Like most botanical gardens, you can "almost hear a pin drop" as you wander through this outstanding collection of flora. A great place to regain your sanity, even just for an hour or so. Worth the visit next time you are travelling to or... More

Great spot for a picnic - speed out your blanket and picnic on the lush green grass or under one of the fantastic old trees. Perfect place to relax and read a book, chat or even take a nap. Truly excellent playground for children.
