A lot of Adelaidians have used and continue to use KI as a regular family get away. The pelican feeding at the jetty has been going on for years and it's a favourite with the kids in particular. It's a part of the KI experience, along with seal bay, Kelly hill caves and the penguins at Penneshaw.

The Pelican Feeding is carried out by a volunteer who does it out of his own initiative without any government support. He collects five dollars that are mainly used to buy the fish he is feeding the Pelicans with. The Pelicans are AWESOME! At the end of the day, there is the Pelican Feeding, essential as a visit. Wonderful characters as your host, a wealth of knowledge and humour to enhance the experience and the birds are a delight.

He's been doing it for ages, we have watched each visit, up CLOSE with wild pelicans, beautiful birds, funny dialogue and the birds entertain as they compete for scraps, all round good family fun.

The birds are hurting each others.especially the little ones, once they got fishes, the big pelicans would hurt them for the fish.

Nice man feeds the pelicans and asks for $5 dollar donation for the fish, it is a short, entertaining interlude which starts at 5pm each evening. Great to see them close up and learn something about the pelicans

The pelican feeding is a good idea to bring people close to the nature! You can feel the birds and they like your feeding!

Amazing to see down by the shoreline of Kingscote. Pelicans and seagulls absolutely everywhere. Worth taking a look at!
