A large, easy to find building, just out of Kingscote, with a nice gift and souvenir area, and free honey samplings. There is a cafe and lots of tourist information. We wandered around for a while, but there was nothing that we had not seen elsewhere. I did not find the place as warm or welcoming.

Hello. Thank you for your review. Everyone has different opinions on which is better so it is great you had the time to see both for yourself. We are disappointed you did not find us as warm and welcoming as Clifford's. Our staff try very hard to ensure all customers feel welcome but this seems to have not happened on... More

The shop has good location, on the way to Kingscote. The shop has cafe and 3 type of honey to taste. A little pricey. However, you can see the working bees and some bee information. Good to visit to gain some knowledge.

Make sure you try the yummy honey ice cream. We enjoyed ours here very much. This honey shop is accessible by fully sealed road compared to the other honey shop on the island. I enjoyed both visits.

The ice cream is to die for, especially on hot days like we have had of late. We are glad you enjoyed the ice cream and found the shop easily accessible. Hope to see you again soon. More

Fantastic spot to spend an hour and learn about bees on KI and their origins. You must try the honeycomb icecream - simply delicious. The range of local honeys is also very good and this attraction is only a minute or two from town. Well worth a visit.

Although we arrived by Sun Princess, we decided to take advantage of a private tour. Tourism Kangaroo Island offer several different tours - we opted for the one that included Kingscote and the Island Beehive. 3.5 hrs and we had a few little stops showing some of the beautiful beaches the north-east of the island has to offer. Penneshaw, where... More

It's a free stop and interesting to see the information and how important bee's are to everything. Do the tasting, have a coffee and check out the bee hive inside down the back.

You can try various honey flavours before you buy, there's information about beekeeping on the walls of the cafe, and a glass bee hive. Most importantly, there is one of South Australia's "big things" outside in the form of a bee. It's only about 2m in size so you need to think of it in relative terms compared to the... More

Thanks for your review. Our big bee is actually not even named as yet! We are going to be running a competition soon to name her so keep an eye on our facebook page to be in the running. She is quite large compared to real Ligurian bees, I swear we don't overfeed her though! Enjoy your travels and #beehappy More
