A lovely clean and relaxing beach. If you are looking to be away from the high touristy areas and just relax quietly on the beach Trinity is the place to go. Great to go with families. Lots of bbq facilities to use along the beach...More
I have been staying in Smithfield for several weeks and find myself drawn to Trinity Beach on an almost daily basis. A bit cool to swim, but love walking on the immaculate beach and climbing up the rocks to watch turtles playing.

Excellent cafes and restaurants. Beautiful beach. Short drive from Cairns and surrounding areas. We used Trinity Beach as a base following a Cruise. Accommodation was reasonably priced for our group of 8.
Pretty place to visit with lots if accommodation and a beautiful Italian Restaurant over from the beach.
Free parking and bbq tables for picnics looking straight out on the blue ocean
Totally worth a visit without lots of people

Thanks for your question. Swimming in the nets is usually very safe. We also have excellent Surf Life Savers on Duty at many northern beaches. As I have lived in the area for over three years, we always take precautions when swimming anywhere along the beaches. Trinity Beach, among others, can have croc sightings. However, if you check out the nets, and the water is clear, you can see when it is perfectly safe. We never swim at nights - EVER - and we don't swim outside the nets. I am always surprised that tourists let their toddlers paddle near the edge. That's not safe. However. I don't want to dissuade you from the excellent opportunity to swim at our beach. Also, if you are concerned, and you are travelling around, Babinda Boudlers is a MUST for a day out of safe swimming, a barbeque and some nice walks. Again, only swim when it is safe to do so, not after a big rain. The water at Babinda is so nice, you won't ever want to leave. Also, at Trinity Beach, if you walk along to the headland, you can stay a while, sit on the bench and watch the big green turtles pop up out of the water. They live there.
