Near Quest North Ryde where I was staying is this peaceful, well maintained park in natural splendor. My quiet, uninterrupted walk on a Saturday morning recharged my batteries as I listened to birdsong and admired the ghostly gums. This is the place for walkers and others who desire a little bit of nature close to the city.

Lane Cove National Park has some lovely drives on sealed roads running along the side of the Lane Cove River. This is right in the suburbs of Sydney. When you drive up to the park from any direction you approach via Sydney normal traffic and infrastructure which then opens up to amazing bush land which I am used to travelling... More

Interesting mix of walkers from all nationalities and ages. You can walk for 1km return or 5km return, up to you. Stunning riverside scenery. Cheapest all day parking in Sydney for tourist destination at $8 per day for the national parks. Parking... More

Great place to camp or grab a cabin. Plenty of walks and beautiful places to see and a short walk to a train station to head into the city

We completed an 11 km return walk from De Burgh's Bridge to the weir, walking along the river. The terrain is different on the two sides of the river. It is rocky with caves on one side while on the other the track is flatter and more clearly made. We enjoyed walking through bushland and were pleased to see native... More

I often head into Lane Cove Natiaonal Park for a lunchtime walk. There are some great tracks along the river. Easy going but beautiful surrounds including the occasional Echinda. A real delight.
