This large cultural centre is behind the main shopping street of Katoomba and a great place to visit. There are a range of activities for the visitor including exhibitions and sometimes markets in the raised internal courtyard. The Wollemii craft markets were on when I visited, lots of local artisans displaying and selling their wares. The views of the mountains... More

The cultural centre is wonderful for visitors to the area. The permanent interactive exhibition tells the history of the area from an Aboriginal perspective (60000 years), through to the post colonial era, focusing on humans and animals. The gallery offers fabulous temporary exhibitions, supported by books in the small shop. Also has a good cafe. I visit whenever I am... More

This is a real asset to Katoomba, holding a great library, a really good cafe, a lovely gift shop that sells a variety of gifts made locally , as well as books etc. There are usually gallery exhibitions but you will need to pay an entrance fee for those. Otherwise enjoy a coffee, and the stunning views from the outside... More

There were two exhibitions in separate rooms; one, a slide show on four huge screens featuring photos and movies of different aspects of the Blue Mountains. These were excellent. In the same room the floor was made up of an aerial view ranging from Sydney to the Blue Mountains and more.In addition ear phones allowed you to listen to profiles... More

Always something interesting in the spacious gallery, but has the rare distinction for the mountains of charging an entry fee. Great coffee in the spacious cafe. Venture out on the open deck and enjoy the massive view from the edge of the roof over the town and Echo Point.

The exhibition about the Blue Mountains is excellent, and somewhere I would like to regularly return. I didn't have time to hear all the audio stories and I'm certain they are all of interest. The slide shows are well done and the map on the floor is intriguing. The cafe is just right! Good, unpretentious food, well presented and reasonably... More

We didn't stop in the exhibits but we did browse the library and had an enjoyable cafe lunch out in the courtyard. For us it was worth the stop.

Please don't bypass this place. First start off by visiting the beautiful library. Than follow with a combined ticket to visit the interactive blue mountains display centre, followed by the art gallery. Don't forget to have something to eat and drink at the Cafe and take a walk to the viewing platform. Coles supermarket is below and free under cover... More

The cultural centre had gallery, library and café and it's looks new with stunning bright atmosphere. Café had good foods and coffee is very good. Library had Wi-Fi free in 2 hours only. Outside lookout at Katoomba village had great view. One thing is gallery is really superb standing. Worth to see!
