We spent a day on the Derwent Hunter for a day sailing. It was one of the best tours in Queensland: now packed with tourists, relaxing, great food ( and plenty!) and two good snorkeling locations. The crew is very knowledgeable and friendly, Highly recommended

This was possibly one of my favourite said out on Airlie Beach. The snorkelling was brilliant the crew were amazing and very informative. The trip was relaxing and the food was good.

Such a fun opportunity to be aboard a tallship; they also will let the guests help with the sails which my friend enjoyed. Both snorkel spots were great; saw some turtles and great coral. The lunch was good and the crew was great to my friend who started to feel a bit ill (not as a result of the ship... More

Perfect day sailing with two stops at the coral reef for snorkeling. Nice and friendly staff. The food was ok, nothing special, but the experience was definitely worthwhile.

We were visiting Australia from the UK and this trip was recommended to us. It did not disappoint. Excellent crew, great snorkelling and good food. I felt it was great value for money. I think the majority of reviews on here are pretty accurate. We certainly didn't struggle for somewhere to sit. We were on the trip on 28th October... More

its like travelling back in time,to the time of the tall ships and the old tea clippers, this ship certainly has a history, all of which is explained on board. An all female crew on our day out with them , and the ladies were great, very friendly, informative, and helpful. great stops to snorkel and a very nice lunch provided as... We really enjoyed every aspect of this trip. The trip out hoisting the sails, wandering the deck, enjoying the views at a leisurely pace. Both snorkeling sites were great. The tide was low which made it fantastic. We had loads of time at both reefs. You are tendered to the beaches of each which gives you the opportunity to walk... More

This trip was just great fun! We booked the trip through the hotel and pick up service was available and on time. We spent a day out at the sea with stops for snorkeling in amazing locations. All gear was available at the ship. Morning tea and lunch was included and very good. Soft drinks are for sale if you... More

We were recommended this tour because it offered a lot of snorkelling. In reality we were in the water less than an hour total across two sites. As for the sailing - the crew didn't know anything about sailing. Told us that on the way out the wind was blowing in the wrong direction!! Ever heard of tacking? On the... More

Thank you for your review we are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your day, with respect to sailing or snorkelling. With regards to sailing, I can say without doubt that our crew are very experienced sailors we have a long term crew of 5, who rotate during the week, and do their best to put the vessel... More

Whether a snorkeler or a sailor, this trip will disappoint. We were told over and over on the way out to the islands that we had 90 mins snorkeling at one site and and hour at the other. We got barely 30 mins at each site and the control freak in the blow-up boat buzzed around us constantly. The trip... More

Thank you for your review, which over 20 years of operation must be one of the most disappointing. We do apologise for not meeting your expectations. Our long term crew are very experienced in sailing the Derwent, and do whatever they can to get her under sail. At 70 tonnes, this is not always possible and we do have to... More
