After trekking in Tibet and Bhutan in 2011, my friend John and I were looking for the next great wilderness experience and found it with Jonathan Leidich and PAEX. We were two weeks on narrow trails that made minimal impact on the wilderness, living in tents and rough-hewn shelters, cooking over an open fire. You are very far from civilization,... More

My trip to Patagonia and my time with Jonathan was truly a life changing experience. I decided to go to Patagonia on a solo adventure January of 2015 right after my 29th birthday. After compiling a list of things I wanted to accomplish before turning 30, I decided the first one I wanted to check off was a hiking trip... More

We spent a week at Sol de Mayo intending to hike some of the AGT but due to injury our time was spent within day walking distance of the camp. We discovered wilderness trails to hidden mountain lakes and glaciers and returned in the evenings to hearty home cooked meals with our new friends. Getting there is an adventure in... More

I hiked the AGT with PAEX, spending eight days in some of the most remote and beautiful parts of Chilean Patagonia. I've traveled widely in Patagonia over many years, and the AGT stands out as one of the most unforgettable experiences I've had. The camps are in spectacular places, with plenty of creature comforts, making life on the trail extremely... More

We have walked the AGT twice and have just finished trip number 11 with Jonathan and his amazing team. The Fault Line Trek, the High Route and everything in between. From bush wacking to boats slipping between ice bergs, fresh bread at the incredible Sol de Mayo ranch or fly fishing the Claro. After 11 trips we hanker for more... More

A five star trekking experience. Getting into the back of beyond in the depths of Patagonia. Walking where very few people have ever walked before. No roads, no paths, just wild wild landscape. Jonathan, the man that makes it all happen, is confident, reliable and professional throughout the whole experience. From co ordinating flights and accommodation, advice on gear and... More

In the process of preparing our second 10+ person trip with Jonathan and his team I noticed the rave reviews they have been receiving. Each and everyone of them is more than justified. I concur with everything that's been said. We had a wonderful time in every respect when we went on the Aysen Glacier Trail back in March 2009... More

I got to hike part of the AGT while shooting a documentary film. Jonathan is a logistical wizard, bringing people and equipment into a spectacularly remote part of the world. All the guides are top notch. The terrain is stunning. The locals are an integral part of the trek and the experience. No other trek will bring you as close... More

I had the great pleasure of walking the AGT in February of 2010 and it was all that I had dreamed that the Patagonia would be and more. I will never forget trekking through isolated valleys and glaciers, drinking directly from rivers, and bonding with gauchos by the campfire. Jonathan and his guides were fun, professional, accommodating, and fantastic cooks.... More

This experience connects you to the "real" Patagonia, traveling up spectacular valleys, crossing glaciers, and seeing some of the most remote parts of Patagonia, all while eating delicious food, staying in rustic but comfortable camps, and learning from Jonathan and his experienced guides. If you're looking for an experience that not many other people have, or are a photographer, or... More
