Get out and about in the Sunny Coast by taking a walk up Mount Coolum. The hike will reward you with stunning coastal views and a sense of achievement! The trail is well marked and used by everyone from people training with their hiking packs on, pretty young things in lycra and full faces of makeup, the older generations keeping... More

We are a Scottish family that do a lot of walking on the hills. Mount Coolum is a lovely walk. We were 1 hour 20 mins all in all with a good 15 minute sit at the top. Great views for not much effort. Not a strenuous walk if you are a keen walker but worth the perch at the... More

The walk to the top of Mount Coolum is loved by tourists and locals alike. The locals use it like a fitness trail. While less than 2km in length, every step forward is a step up. It's worthy of its grade 4 rating. It's rocky and you should be moderately fit. Having said this, plenty of people were doing the... More

Get a birds eye view of the coast and surrounds by taking an interesting walk up Mt Coolum. The walk features well constructed tracks with myriad steps so it can be "walked' comfortably to the summit at just about any pace you choose. It is a great spot for visitors to get their bearings and for others to exercise!!

This mountain wasn't messing around, there are no easy sections, just a few steps to rest on and a refreshing breeze coming off Coolum's Beaches. Other climbers were respectful and it was lovely to see each other stepping to the side to let faster climbers through. It would have been nice to enjoy the silence, however some obnoxious kiwi girls... More

The walk up Mount Coolum is well worth the effort. We went early in the morning. I don't think it would be as enjoyable in the heat of the day. The path is easy to follow, there is ample room for people to pass on the way up and coming back and the views at the top are spectacular.

We hiked up late in the afternoon on a hot day. The hike consists mostly of stairs with some steps quite steep at some points. The views of the coastline are absolutely breathtaking and the air is cool and fresh at the top. We brought water and snacks with us and enjoyed them while taking in the view. On the... More

This is a great way to spend a morning!! The hike up is quite steep at points but as long as you've got at reasonable fitness level you will be fine! The views are absolutely gorgeous from the top and we'll worth the climb! It's lovely just sitting up at the top for a while soaking it all in -... More

The fish and chips or calamari and chips at the shop right across the entrance to the public carpark in Coolum Beach along David Low way. It is marvelous. Cooked to perfection.

But I made it! View was worth it! Perhaps a little earlier in the morning would have been cooler! Amazing to watch the locals pass us by with such ease.
