Spectacular all year - see this area from the ground in the dry season, and from the air in the wet season. The Jim Jim Area is only accessible by 4WD during the dry season. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters (charges apply). Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season

Definitely 4wd to get into here. The walk along to the bottom of the falls is easy and a nice swim in the freezing water. We climbed to the top where there are rock pools to swim in and a clear, blue water, sandy beach....More

It's a challenging hike to get to the falls, but it's so worth it. The cliff walls are staggeringl and you can swim in the pool at the base of the falls (it was too far for me to swim to the falls themselves but...More

This was a fun short walk a bit slow going with kids though as ur rock hopping a lot of the way. Well worth the walk to the plunge pool at the bottom of the falls. Was a truly magnificent place to swim. Drive in,...More

We surely visited Jim Jim at its best. There was a good amount of water coming over and it wasn't too busy. A group of girls on a tour provided entertainment with the endless poses they struck for photos to post on social media. The...More

I missed the place last time I was in Kakadu because it was closed. Not this time, It is a bit of a walk in over some rocks but well worth it when you see what is at the other end. Just jump into the...More

The question which bugged us as we planned our trip is whether a conventional 4WD SUV rented from Darwin airport is sufficient for this trip, or if we need to rent an all terrain monster for quadruple the cost. No one could give us a...More

This one has a bit of a tough trek, with some boulders to haul over and lots of rocks. Don't try if you are not fit. Do NOT wear thongs. There was a lovely beach (sandy) as well as a huge swimming hole with a...More

This was a great place to visit but a very challenging place to get too! A long unmade road (55k) inaccessible to anything other than a four wheeled drive! Also had 2k hazardous walk (more like scrambling) over rocks etc but very worth it! Not...More

We travelled from Jabiru to Jim Jim Falls which was about a 4 hour round trip in terms of driving. The road in is heavily corrugated and then becomes a sandy narrow 4wd only track. Once you get there the walk in is a difficult...More

Kakadu is very civilised and they bend over backward to cater to the tourist. We went for 3 days and stayed 8...and could have stayed a month. You can see a lot with a standard car, and yes absolute access. The road are... More
