Great rock art

This is a fabulous rock art site with wonderful ranger talks at selected times - do check out the times with the kakadu visitor centre or boards at the entrance to the park.

Awesome views of the natural landscape as well as some interesting examples of the local rock art. The hikes are not too difficult but very rewarding.

This site was more impressive in terms of art than Ubirr for me, but both are definitely worth a visit. It can be very hot and exhausting walking around so do remember to take plenty of water and a hat.

It is an outside visit. Nice artwork on the walls. To be seen. There is a billabong close to it where you can picnic. Even old people can easily do the visit.

Average level of fitness require to hike up to the top but nothing too strenuous and the views are definitely worth the effort required. Should definitely be... More

We visited in the wet season but it wasn't raining late morning. But it was really hot and humid and I strongly suggest water, hat and sunscreen. We didn't have enough water so only did the 1 km loop. We happened upon 2 Aboriginal Park Rangers who told us about the paintings, tribes and life in Kakadu and surrounding areas.... More

We visited Nourlangie rock in September this year on a very rainy day. We only walked through the the entrance portal, to the right on the mountain and after a matter of 150 meters came to the first of two easily accessible rock painting sites. They were both worth having a look at and the second featured a drawing of... More

Here’s the thing. I’m a bit of a loner and prefer to do my own thing. The idea of a bus/van tour normally does not whelm me. However I’m glad I was on TERRITORY EXPEDITION'S 2 DAY KAKADU TOUR at NOURLANGIE – I got much more value from the area by having guide MATT explain the story behind not only... More
