How fantastic to find a dog friendly stretch of beautiful golden sands. Plenty of sticks to throw, doggie poo bags and bins provided. Excellent.

This is a lovely spacious beach near the city centre of Nelson. About 5 km I guess. While I stayed in Nelson I ran to the beach just before sunset and every day the view took my breath away.

Tahunanui beach is always a favourite when I visit Nelson. Go for a walk and look out at the outstanding views across the water and towards Tasman. Just gorgeous. Make sure you go on a sunny day to really experience the beauty of it all.

Hi , as its a predominately coastal country your trip will take you around some of the most amazing countryside but as much as it is beautiful, you might want to take a cardigan ... and a rain coat . Its winter after all !
