We went here in May, so it was freezing cold! The benefit to this was that there were very few people on the beach. There are lots of boulders to look at, and it is interesting to see the broken ones. Major downside is no...More

Stopped here to have a look at the boulders and yes they were interesting round rocks, not sure if it was just us but we were fairly underwhelmed by them.

Went early in the morning before the crowds arrived - that was the right decision. Even in the rain people began arriving as we were leaving and taking clear photos would have harder. The place feels otherworldly with all the boulders on the beach -...More

If you have the chance, please take half an hour to go and see these boulders. They're absolutely amazing. They honestly look like fossilized dragon's eggs, or something created by the props department on 'Game of Thrones'. Admission is not formally managed, but a sign...More

First time we had seen this natural wonder. Beach is easy to get down too and the boulders are partially made of quarts and in a varying aray of decomposition. Very interesting to see the stone structure.

The place is truly a sight to behold, with history in every boulder. Be sure to read about the origins of the boulders before arriving so you'd get to appreciate them better. Also, if you parked at Boulder's beach access road, be sure to come...More

Nothing too spectacular but worth the walk easy to find and only a short stroll along the beach. Next stop Oamaru

We were afraid we would miss the opportunity to see these but fate was on our side. I wasn't too sure what to expect but found the boulders interesting, looking closely to see how they were formed. Ideas of dinosaur and dragon eggs, the shape...More

These are amazing. It is amazing how many there are and you can walk around them, sit on them, admire them. It is a must to visit when in Moeraki.

Not sure about the buses, but if you can rent a car for the day, that's definitely a good option for this attraction: easy drive, coastal views, be at your own pace.

Depending where you are landing and how much time you have. Christchurch is a must see & do, so is Auckland. Each island has so much to experience. If i lived closer i would go back and just concentrate on 1 island at a... More

Yes there is - there is a 3 to 4 hour tour - check out awesometours website in New Zealand and look at tours, then day-tours. Had to put it like this because Tripadvisor will not allow HTML or website links in answers. Hope... More
