Nice walk to the waterfall

It was a comfortable walk to the waterfall and saw plenty of seal pups playing in the water along the water stream.

We visited the falls in mid February only to find that there are no seal pups there at that time of year, they had left to go back to sea. Despite that it's a pleasant walk up to quite a pretty waterfall.

March is a bit early for the pups to head up so there were none in the waterfall pool itself, but about a dozen total in the stream. They were swimming and playing about, biting eachothers tails and sunning themselves - very sweet! Parking on both sides of the road, one steep flight of steps on the walk and a... More

This is a truly wonderful place for seal pups and we are lucky to be able to observe them. However over easter weekend it was a horrible sight to see tourists crashing through the vegetation down to the stream and crowding around the waterfall pool far too close to the pups. Not only is this clearly causing distress to the... More

This is by far one of the most wonderful places I have been to see. It is so good to see the wee pups playing about in the water. I'm so pleased to see DOC has people watching over the pups so they cannot be harmed in any way.

Right on the main highway. Access to watch the seal pups right on the roadside even the physically impaired could see the pups. We stopped on way north and no-one else was there early in the morning before 8am. Some were busy frolicking in the small pools and some still sleeping on the banks. There were at least 14 pups.... Plenty of parking at the entrance to the walk; very scenic pathway to the waterfall. The seal pups were so much fun to watch
