Had an amazing time with Josh from Kaikoura Kayaks! My partner and I were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour during our time slot, and it was an awesome trip. Managed to get up close and personal with seals and even a couple of little blue penguins. Josh was super knowledgeable, and was able to give us a good insight on the different animals in the area, and on the Kaikoura peninsula as a whole. We were a bit worried about a winter kayak experience, but Kaikoura really turned it on for us, we had calm seas and blue skies, couldn't have asked for better conditions! The addition of the provided jackets, neoprene booties, and sprays skirts kept us super warm and dry - we almost regretted the number of layers we piled on underneath. We had such a good time, and will definitely be back in spring/summer to see another side of Kaikoura. Thanks team :)

Great family trip. Josh was a fun and knowledgable guide and having a couple of training outdoor education enthusiasts (Francois and Ben) was an added bonus. We felt safe, warm and looked after the whole time.

Really friendly staff and despite the weather, I was warm and dry out on the water. Got to see a few seals and learn some interesting stuff about the local wildlife and the area itself. Will definitely be back in future to hopefully see a bit more wildlife! Josh was a great guide!

Our family had a brilliant time with Kaikoura Kayaks. Despite it being the middle of winter, we were warm and dry and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff and our guide were very accommodating and friendly and Josh our guide gave us lots of interesting facts about the Kaikoura area.

Thanks Kaikoura kayaking - great fun winter kayaking. We appreciated you giving us a choice to cancel due to the swell conditions or go out. Glad we choose to go out! Despite the less than perfect conditions - we were kitted up warm; with the company providing wetsuit booties, dry pants, paddle jackets, beanies and kayaing gloves. Emma the guide, assisted by Georgia (as part of her work experience), gave great instructions, interesting insights into wildlife and surroundings and kept us safe - finding sheltered places to raft up and observe seals and seabirds.
