Kaikoura Helicopters is the only helicopter company in the spectacular Kaikoura region. In this region the mountains literally meet the sea. The sea is abundant with marine life and is the reason why the mighty Sperm whale roams the area feeding on fish and giant squid. The best way to view this majestic animal is by the air and the helicopter offers uninterrupted viewing of the whole animal from head to tail. Then fly from the turquoise blue ocean up to some of the highest mountain peaks in New Zealand. In a matter of minutes you can be walking in the snow on the peak of a mountain, this is incredible and really feels like being on top of the world. An amazing “must do” experience while visiting New Zealand.

What more could you ask for. They were no nonsense but engaging and very clearly knew what they were doing and the countryside they were in. Modern and high end machines as well.

We went to book the Whale Watch cruise only to find they're fully booked weeks ahead. This is because post-earthquake they only have one boat sailing three times a day instead of six boats hourly. Hence we opted for the helicopter tour and it's a...More

Hi, is there snow on the mountain range in Early December ? Also, can you book in advance to be on a flight with other people, as this is cheaper or only on the day you want to go ? Thanks

Hi, it is cheaper if the helicopter is full as the flight price is split 3 ways rather then two. They are very helpful and I'm sure if you contact them in advance with flexibility for date and time they will do their best to... More
