This is now a lovely walk around the town basin with many sculptures to see along the way. The Waka'n'Wave is such an interesting piece of sculpture which is a great hit with adults & children alike who love to climb on & in it.

This sculpture is part of the loop walk although you don't have to do the walk to see the sculpture. There is easy car access and a very short flat walk to view the sculpture in its own right.

This distinctive sculpture is located on the path which runs beside the marina (on the side which has the cafes, shops etc.). Quite unlike any other public artwork we've seen before. An interesting walk from the Town Basin following the banks of the river before you come to the sculptures. The sculptures are worth seeing.

Whangarei should be commended for commissioning they lovely piece made jointly by a Maori Artist and a European Artist- bring both cultures together to create an astoundingly simple, yet complicated piece of art along the river.

The children saw it and needed to conquer it. I stood at the bottom freaking out and trying to coax them down. Fun beautiful sculpture and walk. Well Done!!!!
