Great place to see, feel the vertigo, and to walk around. Also a destination from other tracks which start down river close to the center of town.

A nice walking track through native bush that also gives you views of the falls from both the top and the bottom. Very impressive when lots of water is going over them. If you are really hot you can have a dip in the water at the bottom of the falls.

Plenty of great totara trees to marvel at. You can... More

This is one of the nicer walks in Whangarei. Lots of forest walking, wildlife and peace. Often see the local lads and girls swimming here. The falls can be very impressive, especially after a big rain. Recommended.

The carpark has improved and even had wardens to assist on the day we visited. Free too!! Walk across the river to get the view from the far side. It's only 2/3 mins walk.

The day we went they had ambassadors helping with parking and helpful information. Definitely worth having a look at when passing through Whangarei.
