The Margaret River Golf Club is a private club open to both new members and visitors.

The club is located in the heart of the Margaret River Wine Region, just 5 minutes drive from the town centre, and situated on the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Coastal Ridge. The 6092 metre par 72 course is one of Western Australia’s most highly regarded country courses.

The golf course was created by a group of golfing enthusiasts in the early 1950's in a bushland cleared setting near the mouth of the Margaret River and winds its way up and down the slopes of the coastal ridge.

This spectacular setting is complemented by an abundance of flora and fauna, native and local trees. The resident kangaroos have been a major attraction for visitors, golfers and non-golfers alike for many years.

Although not heavily bunkered, the course features numerous water hazards, mostly on the front nine holes. The back nine in particular requires careful shot consideration owing to the undulating fairways and large trees.

The Margaret River golf course is in pristine condition year round and at its perfect best during the winter months especially. Visitors are welcome but bookings are essential. Clubs, buggies and carts are available for hire at the Margaret River Golf Shop on course, that also stock a wide range of Hire Golfing equipment, Golfing essential and also has a great stock of Golfing Fashion apparel.

The clubhouse offers a well stocked bar and stunning views over the course from the verandah.

My wife and I had a great round at Margaret River Golf Club. Jon the pro booked us in following an email to him 2 days before we wanted to play and when we arrived greeted us and gave some good advice about the course along with a course guide. All of the holes are different and interesting, mostly tree... More

This was my first round of gold ever and my partner was stoked that it was able to be at this course. The grounds were beautifully kept and the wild kangaroos and many birds added a lovely feel to the club grounds. The holes were all well maintained and the lovely couple in the front shop were so friendly and... More

Played the course today and found it to be challenging, long and in great condition despite the rain. The greens are excellent and fortunately we didn't find ourselves in any bunkers but they were well maintained. John in the pro shop is excellent and full of helpful advice. A pleasure to play and we hope to do so again if... More

We had a great afternoon of golf here. As a group of two actual golfers and four 'beginners', we really enjoyed the mix of easy and more difficult holes. Special mention must go to John in Golf Shop who was exceptionally hospitable, welcoming us to the course and making sure we were set up with clubs and carts. Would definitely... More

Wow, a great course in beautiful natural bush surroundings on the Leeuwin Ridge, located halfway between the Margaret River township and the coastal village of Prevelly. A delight for players of all abilities. If the golfs bad; the Kangaroos and the view from the #18 tee box are a wonderful distraction!!!!! The fairways and greens were first class, congratulations to... More

On one hand, there is no surprise :all the nice comments I read on TripAdvisor are true, in particular the kindness of the pro, John, who's also passionate about birds. On the other hand, even if the fairways are wide and in extremely good condition, as well as the greens (5 stars !), the course isn't that easy: treatrous slopes,... More

Had read the reviews about the welcoming nature of the club, so decided to try it out. We rang and were greeted by a very helpful manager - who arranged a time for us, gave us good information about the course, and set us up for our game. It is a beautiful course, the latter 9 holes slightly more challenging... More

The course is very well maintained for a course of this type with proper greens (no sand scrapes). Front nine is quite flat and easy to play whilst the back nine is hilly and requires a bit more skill and thought as to where the ball will end up after it rolls (typically all the way from one side of... "Kangaroo puts balls in a pocket and takes it." A kindly, friendly manager told me that. I could not understand is that serious?, or joke? The golf course is easy to getting there, and Enjoyable, and trees which greatly grew was difficult, that was also a nice view. I could play golf speedily and get enough time to spend with my...
