Sheltered bay with nice sandy beaches without the waves you get at the ocean beach. There's grassy areas to sit on, shady places and picnic areas. Boats, jettys for walking along or fishing off, restaurants at the edge of the water, walkway right round alongside the water. And of course the famous dolphins which may or may not call in... More

The new picnic area between Koombana Bay and the Marlston waterfront is great for family picnics. We had the boat there for some water skiing and then sat on built in deck chairs in the shade... awesome spot to relax

Koombana Bay is a lovely area with beautiful views. There are a number of local attractions and we found everyone very pleasant and friendly. It is quiet enough to be peaceful but there are plenty of restaurants etc.

This sheltered beach is a great alternative to the back beach. It is great for non-confident swimmers and small children as there are very little waves. There are better facilities here too - sun shelters to relax under, a burger bar and toilets.

There are a lot of interesting beaches, from child friendly to boating areas. Sometimes I like to sit at one of the waterfront cafes and just enjoy the scenery. Good places to chillax(?) relax and others to keep me fit.

Sunday morning, glorious sunshine, time for a morning drive. After a slow lap of the City, we arrived at Koombana Bay. Very few people present but a couple of hardy swimmers, the remainder either strolling the sands or, like ourselves, just standing enjoying the view. Pleasant location to visit during the year, especially summertime. Kiosk at the change rooms and... More

Koombana bay is such a beautiful place to go. It's lovely for just sitting watching the sun go down or safe swimming in the summer months too.

There's a major upgrade to the Koombana Foreshore this summer. The kiosk will have a very big makeover, a new iconic pedestrian bridge will link the beach and CBD and the entire amenity of the beach will be improved by opening up the presently unused railway corridor. It's a $12 million makeover being designed by Cardno, who are also doing... More
