The Geelong Botanic Gardens are located within Eastern Park on the eastern outskirts of the central business district. They were established in 1851 and are the fourth oldest botanic garden in Australia. The gardens were first set aside as a public space in 1850, taking up the whole of today's Eastern Park. The botanic gardens were later isolated to a... More

Such a contrast to first impressions as you drive into Geelong - an industrial city but contrasted with a lovely bay and beach and wonderful parks and gardens such as these. So accessible to the CBD and very relaxing.

This are nice botanic gardens, but they are not very big. It's a nice walk though. It's not entirely flat. A good place to take kids and family if you want them to burn off some energy.

Lovely setting, plenty of shade & wind shelter, beautiful plants & flowers. Grounds are relatively flat, well marked out paths, shelter if weather becomes inclement. plantings are zoned for special interest, childrens books special shelter. Close walk from township

We visit the Geelong Botanical Gardens from time to time on our visits to Geelong to see family. Over the last 10 years the gardens have improved enormously. Our last visit in March 2017 saw the gardens in a very good light. Lovely sunny afternoon, lovely vistas from every point in the garden, autumn flowers in bloom giving lots of... More

The gardens are well known for certain examples of specimen trees. Well set out with meandering paths. The guides are very well informed and there's a lovely cafe there

The gardens are lovely and the parking is ample and close in several places. It is a pleasant, relaxing, quiet, place to visit and the cafe has good coffee and food. Mosquitoes are an issue so take some repellant and you will not be troubled by them. We frequent here regularly for some quiet time or coffee after walking the... More

A great place to get away from the crowds and wonderful when the sun is hot as theres plenty of shade. Not a lot of people go here so its great for a quiet picnic. There's a café to get a small bite to eat and a coffee (not the worlds best but good enough). The outdoor library is a... More

Went here on Saturday. It was nice and pleasant. Wasn't very big though. I suppose my expectations were for it to be better. Last one I went to was Melbourne and its in a different league. Worth taking a look, had a nice tea room for a cuppa and a bite to eat.
