Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar...

Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge.

Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard.

It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston!

I was fortunate enough to take the Afternoon Discovery 2.5 hour cruise up the Tamar River earlier this week, and what a fantastic experience it was. Callum and Cheryl were friendly and knowledgeable hosts and guided us through the area on a lovely sunny Launceston afternoon. The cruise takes in the North and South Esk rivers through to the Tamar... More

The service is good but the whole trip could be more interesting and value for money. You get tea or coffee, muffin and three small taste of wine. The biggest problem is the banks of the Tamar are just been populated with normal housing about half way of the journey. Drove up the Tamar Valley much more to see and... More

I went on a 4 hour Tamar River cruise on a windy but sunny Saturday. There were approx. 25/30 people on board. We were ably looked after by Lin/Cheryl and Danielle. The crew were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had a morning tea of Muffins/Lions Club fruit cake and large cookies.!!!The tea and coffee was "on tap". We tasted three... More

We enjoyed the 4 hour luncheon cruise. The boat was enclosed as the weather was windy and cold. The 4 hours flew with an interesting and friendly commentary from the captain interspersed by morning tea lunch, wine and cheese tasting, all of good quality. The history as explained by the captain really gave you a good base to understand Launceston Just... More

We recently did the dinner cruise on the Tamar River. It was a very nice cruise, the staff were polite and friendly and we took in some of the great views of the George and Tamar. If you are new to the area or looking for a good cruise then I would recommend the day one, as once it gets... More

Deciding that a cruise was a terrific way to see the beautiful Tamar and Esk Rivers we'd driven around the day before, we jumped on board a Tamar River Cruise, hosted by the knowledgable and so warm and friendly, Callum (the Captain), and lovely Toni. For three or so hours, we were taken up the river, while it's history, present... More

I did the 4 Hour Cruise to the Batman Bridge which included a short visit to the Cataract Gorge. As I did this in the 'Off Season' there were only 13 of us on this Cruise - the Boat was SO EMPTY. This proved to be a Great Advantage as it was so easy to move about the Boat for... More

This tour is one of the tours that we most enjoyed on our trip. We did the 4 hour cruise to the batsman bridge and back. Callam and Tony were very friendly helpful and full of information. The cruise included morning tea, wine and beer tasting (this was a bonus to us as we did know) a light lunch which... More

This short Cruise Explores the Tamar River in Launceston and some way up the Gorge. The boat is very comfortable, crew is friendly and we learned about history and how the river is 'used' today. Very interesting cruise, the children enjoyed it very much too and were happy to have their questions answered by the friendly host. Would do another... More

We did the 50 minute tour which took us up the North and South Esk rivers and a little way up the Tamar. The boat was comfortable and not crowded and allowed excellent views. The guide was awesome, pointing out all manner of interesting things and giving an excellent historical background on what we were looking at. Of course going... More
