A place to escape the crazy one-way network of roads that make up Launceston & confuse tourists. Looks like a popular picnic spot for groups with large expanses of lawns and shady trees. Spent about an hour in the park to stretch the legs.

Excellent park to stroll through, with plenty of diversions to occupy an afternoon. With monkeys and ducks to watch and a conservatory to boot there is a little something for the whole family. The ride on train looks to be fun for the kids aswell.

City Park is a perfectly maintained park. Smooth asphalt walking paths. Lots of shade. Flower displays. Fish pond. Period Rotunda. Conservatory. Monkeys! YES! Monkeys (macaque) that are fun and easy to watch / view up to their hilarious antics! A child's train ride was even encompassing the park the day we were there! Definitely a gem worth visiting & suitable... More

City parks are always worth a look at I think. The lungs of a city, and a place to escape the maddening crowd for a few minutes and enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. Launceston City Park offers this oasis in a small area, with the addition of entertainment of the highest order, in the form of a troop... More

This park was just a short walk from the Grand Chancellor Hotel and just the thing to do after our flight and before dinner. The gardens and lawns are perfectly kept. There are ducks in the pond and lots of room for picnics, kids to run around etc.

Great park with lovely old English trees. Lovely setting close to centre of town. Children's play section is very safe with security fences and gates. Music in the park in the summertime.
