Beautiful grounds and a beautiful venue. I had come here with a friend to taste their widely known wines however, the staff member helping us at the time seemed a little disinterested and often would just pour the wine without the story behind it. Wines were not one of my favourite unfortunately, and found myself walking out disappointed as I... More

If you are coming to Launceston, you must do a trip out to Josef Chromy Winery. The estate is spectacular! We did the $5 wine tastings before choosing a meat and cheese platter and a drink to sit down in the sun, listen to the birds chirp and enjoy the incredible natural landscape that Tasmania is known for!

We visited the winery in April 2016 and found it stunning, relaxing, fine dining and great wine, so much so I joined up the Silver wine club. However on the first anniversary of the automatic wine delivery the wine club manager Amy allegedly incorrectly calculated the discount on the wine, and instead of making a phone call to let the... We both found this place a really picturesque place to visit. The young woman conducting the tasting was managing a few groups quite well. As the interface of Josef Chromy, she was perfectly suited to public interaction. This brunette (originally from Perth WA) was knowledgeable, polite, honest, and engaging. I've tasted many wines over 25 years, and these wines were... More

The winery itself is a stunning piece of art with the spectacular view at the restaurant overseeing the beautiful vineyard, however the service and quality of food were appalling, first the staff forgot one of our orders , second all the dishes were too salty even the raw oysters. The raw salmon dish had a disgusting combination with squid sauce... More

Absolutely fantastic. A must do in Tassie. I have been drinking the wines all through our road trip around Tassie so I was very much looking forward to going there. Booked on line and asked for a window seat which we got on a Sunday. They looked like they were fully booked but plenty of room between tables and not... More

Charged $10pp for a wine tasting of 11 people. Not enough seating for us all, the lady popped over every now and then to pour the wines, only giving us the name no details about them. The table or bucket were not cleared before our tasting began either. The wines were nice but service wasn't there.

I never visit Launceston without visiting Josef Chromy. Wonderful wine, beautiful garden to enjoy a meat platter, or even just fries with family and friends.

Only four choices for mains at lunch and the choices unimpressive. Three of us chose the lamb and it was disgusting, When the dishes arrived, the stench was overwhelming, couldn't figure out what it was, but then realised that it was the dried olives (smelled like vomit, unfortunately). The lamb was re-heated and very fatty, the best part of the... More

$5 for tasting about 8 wines, we were very happy with that! We knew we would purchase a bottle or two as we had already tried one in our accomodati9on (Relbia lodge - next door). With the tasting if you purchase a bottle you get the tasting for free, bonus :) We stayed the same day and had a cheese... More
