Launceston is one of the prettiest cities in Tasmania, not so much hustle and bustle. The Architecture is very similar to Adelaide and we have been told both cities had the same Architect. As we live looking over this beautiful river one never gets bored...More

If you are staying in Launceston for a few days then a drive along both sides of this river is going to excite. Pleanty of wineries to tempt the taste buds.

My wife and I did a trip down the river with a small group of people. The day was calm so the ride was smooth. A very friendly knowledgeable guide/pilot. A lot to see and lots of history.

Very impressive river, easy to follow until it heads out into the wilds of Bass strait, watched a big tanker sail on down the river

Yes this is, as all the reviews state a great River that one can travel on or take a cruise from a local company Great views and sites from all sides

the tamar river is such a lovely place. there are cruises down the tamar. the sunsets and sunrises over the tamar valley are just picture perfect for taking photos

I took a boat ride along the Tamar River to see the Gorge and it was breathtaking, quiet and the views were great.
