The Japanese gardens are a must see, peaceful and calming. They are beautifully kept and a real credit to the gardeners. They are tranquil waterfalls and lovely bridges. Plenty of bird life, so be sure to bring some bread. Great backdrops for photos too.

Take your time, sit and enjoy each garden room. Plenty of ideas that could be managed in ones own garden.

Definitely my favourite place to relax and take a stroll in Toowoomba. Take some bread to feed the geese, ducks, turtles and catfish. Very well maintained. Beautiful scenery.

Very peaceful as expected. Sculptured bushes. Bonsai trees. Raked sand. Red bridges over water. Bamboo forest walks. Lots of bird life. Well kept. Popular but quiet places to observe the beauty.

Had 5 quick minutes to visit, and was so glad I did. Could not obviously do the gardens justice, but wanted to understand the format, structure etc. This is a very large semi-modern Japanese garden set in a neighborhood location (but adjoining the University). Next time I plan to spend at least an hour or more and will bring my... More

Love these gardens. Well kept. Fantastic for picnics. Entry is free but a donation box aids the upkeep of these beautiful gardens.

Relatively easy to locate ( adjacent to the university grounds) and ample off street parking available. A well established botanic garden with authentic Japanese features and lots of local wild life in the form of birds and turtles, very family friendly and a nice place to relax and contemplate. Only downside for me was a lack of signage on the... More

I have visited quite a few Japanese Gardens in Australia and particularly love the Toowoomba Gardens which adjoin the University of Southern Queensland campus. They are delighful gardens - small( by a lot of standards) beautifully maintained and compact enough to use it for part of a morning or afternoon walk. I enjoy walking up the path between the camillia... More
