Being completely ignorant about aviation, and purely going to give the kids another valuable musuem experience, we decided to try something new and check out the aviation musuem. What an awesone surprise. The kids loved all the interactive displays, the docos playing in different sections. We enjoyed all of that plus the flight sims!!! But most of all, it was... More

Nice air conditioned museum detailing Bert Hinklers life in Bundaberg and how he built his first plane and went on to be a solo flyer across the world.Interesting old footage to view and you are allowed to sit in the plane to get your photo taken. Also you can walk thru Bert's house which has been transported from England and rebuilt... Was convinced by friendly staff on Saturday afternoon to purchase combined tickets for the Hinkler Museum and Fairymead House, even though we didn't have time to visit Fairymead House that afternoon. Was advised that we could visit the house the next day. Thoroughly enjoyed the museum. Returned the next day at 1pm to view Fairymead House to find it closed.... More

I was more interested in attending the Hinkler Aviation Museum than my husband. We arrived in the morning and were greeted by a warm and friendly Reception lady who was well-versed on the Museum and provided much information prior to us even entering. This Museum is well worth a visit when you are in Bundaberg. My husband even commented that... More

Hinkler Hall of Aviation honours the achievements of the famous aviator Bert Hinkler, who was born and bred in Bundaberg. The collection is world-class and would be of interest to anyone, not just fans of the aviator. The exhibits have been beautifully restored and there is even an inter-active experience that will keep the kids and young-at-heart entertained. We are... More

Allow yourself plenty of time to visit. The hall of aviation is within the botanic gardens which are also worth a walk around. Other attractions within the park are the historical museum and Fairymead House. Fairymead House is only open for one hour per day from 11am for a guided tour, so work the other areas around this. You can... More

This is a great interactive museum of the history of Bert Hinkler and its alongside his original English home that was rebuilt at North Bundaberg. The Hinkler Hall of Aviation is a very comprehensive collection of his early days as an aviator in North Bundaberg and at Mon Repos. Great for all ages.

Visited with interstate friends, enjoyed the history, the displays and the men enjoyed the simulators. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Learnt a lot about Bert Hinkler that we did not know. The Hinkler house is amazing and the story behind that alone, being bought out from England by a lical community group is wonderful. I would recommend a visit... More
