Take yourself a picnic lunch and enjoy the gardens. Not a big fan myself normally - but really enjoyed the easy access and the grounds

10 mins drive from the city center. It is a tranquil and peaceful place. Very well maintained and beautiful plants with surprisingly varied categories. Duck feeding and the small sand pit are kid’s favourite. Definitely a good place for family.

Locals know about the Botanic Gardens but often overlooked by visitors. Easy to walk around and there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic. If not driving accessible by the free bus, just hope off at the University.

I like to stroll through the botanical garden in Wollongong at different times of the year. I even had my wedding ceremony on the pontoon at the pond many years ago. My grandkids also love to go there for a day when they visit me.

I agree with the other posfs, not much shelter. Take an umbrella or reconsider if raining. If you are just going for a walk though, I would still visit as it is lovely.

It’s in the pipeline soon - at present time there is a coffee van at the entrance which sells snacks.
