My wife and I hiked the track from the Routeburn Shelter to the Divide in 3 days, 2 nights. We stayed in the Routeburn Falls Hut the first night. The hike to it was fairly short and not too difficult (though level of incline does...More

I am going to write a very different review to the ones most travellers have written. My experience of the Routeburn Track was absolutely nightmarish. My husband and I did the track from the Routeburn Falls side to the Divide over three days. On the...More

After some dubious weather forecasts and route closures, we weren't sure if we were going to be able to tramp the Routeburn Track on our much awaited holiday. However, following the advice of the Department of Conservation in Queenstown, a last minute change to the...More

Easyhike delivered all they promised, along with ease and good cheer! We hiked the Routeburn Track and Easyhike supplied all of our core backpacking gear and food, as well as relocating our car. The equipment was quality and in excellent condition and the food was...More

Most of the tramp was completed in constant rainfall. This meant the grand vistas were absent, but this was an outstanding dramatic experience. If you have a decent level of fitness, you won’t find the tramp too taxing, much of the track turns into streams...More

We did the 3 day walk from Routeburn Shelter to The Divide in late October, first day of the season. It is reasonably challenging but fine for a fit and healthy person. Definitely need proper boots, rain gear, lots of layers. I was grateful for...More

With a friend did the 1 day hike, which is already a big recommendation! I wish we did the full track. From routeburn shelter it's a long way through the forest, next to the river, crossing bridges and waterfalls. The first hut is easy to...More

Walked through in a day, with a good level of fitness very achievable. With 12 hours of daylight you still have time to look around and take in the views. Finished at 3pm hitched a ride into Te Anau, plenty of traffic at that time....More

Tiring but worth every minute of it. Stunning scenery with several interesting plants and trees. Limited wild life though.

When we did the track there were a few fit people that were doing it in a day, looked like a long day but as you say you are fit it is very do-able. The track itself is wide and well marked.
