Despite the rough waters often associated with the Foveaux Strait, the ferry crosses with ease. Although not prone to seasickness myself, I recently crossed with someone who frequently has troubles with travel sickness, and found the crossing to be fine, despite the rough waters.

Do yourself a favour and travel outside on the rear deck. You'll get wet, but I'll take wet over seasick any day. That crossing is rough! The staff on the boat are exceptional. A true holiday experience in itself :-)
