My top line summary is that in this water jet boat ride my wife had a smile so big you could slide a banana through it sideways, we had a blast. You must hold on, feet on the floor and suggest wearing a warm top that you do not mind getting wet. It is like an old fashion E ride at Disneyland. You will turn 360 degrees multiple times and also ride through a beautiful gorge at over 50 km per hour. A great humorous driver is an added feature. As paying customers end there ride, the drivers were applauded.

On the surface may appear expensive but it is a unique experience and is fun. Be prepared to get wet even if you wear a waterproof robe! And be thrown around. Very fast and you’ll find you will scream or whoop loudly. Great fun. One thing to note there are lockers down where you get on the boat but it’s a general locker for everyone so if you have wallet you’re putting it in a locker that is locked after the last person has put their stuff in so you may want to consider what to do.

I wasn't going to visit this attraction on our trip to New Zealand but my son said it was a must do. so with trepidation I booked on line ahead of our trip. Booking was really easy so all we had to do was turn up. On arrival we were a little early for our booked trip so the receptionist got us in on an earlier departure. It was all really quick and efficient, we were given the option of a splash jacket to keep us dry and everyone had a life vest. Once we were all seated in the boat we were given a safety briefing and then off we went. What fun! Lots of screaming and laughter, a great time was had by all. I think we were on the boat for about 25 mins with lots of 360 degree turns, with a prior warning from our driver, and close encounters. I would do it all again tomorrow.

You k ow you’re going to go in a boat and it will go in a narrow canyon and it will go really fast. Nothing prepares you for how close they come to the edge and how often it seems that you are mere inches from hitting the wall. Once you realize your driver knows what he’s doing you start to enjoy the thrill. The ride is exhilarating and well worth it. Not cheap, but worth it.

My family and I booked this experience and really enjoyed it. We were apprehensive about the rafting part at the end but wanted to challenge ourselves and try something different. The jet boating was a lot of run first up and then onto the raft for a paddle down the unknown river. We were guided by a lovely young fellow called Kerin who gave us verbal tuition on how to paddle together at the same time and when to hold on etc etc. it was a great experience, wild at times but we were successful and didn't end up capsized and we can now cross this off our bucket lists of things to do. Would recommend to anyone that wants to challenge themselves.

I heard of this ride and was something that i must do when i'm in New Zealand. Everything was great from the ease of booking online and we just have to turn up. We booked this for a family of four which my wife was reluctant initially but she enjoyed it the most.
After getting suited up and safety briefing by the staff..we had a great ride and cannot believe we had our faces so close to the walls and all the 360 degree spin was great.
Thanks to our Driver: Joseph Coutts aka Touttsy who did some extra 360's for us and also some great reviews of the river.

I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it, but the second we pulled away from the dock, the smile that stretched from ear to ear spoke volumes. Incredible drivers, outstanding views, totally thrilling and a fun way to see some beautiful NZ river. Good to do solo, too.

What a blast and unique boat ride. I’ve been on speed boats including faster rides, but never with the twists, turns, proximity to gorge walls and rocks as what we experienced with Shotover Jet. The masterful boat drivers (better term than captain in this case) carefully navigate around tight turns, shallow rocky waters, and 360 degree spins as part of an exhilarating ride.

We are extremely lucky to be the only jet boats able to operate in such a stunning location and we are glad you agree! The Boat drivers do love to take pleasure in scaring their passengers so close to the rocks, we think it all makes the experience a lot more fun!

Did this for our honeymoon and it was one of the best things we did on the entire trip! If you get a seat next to the side of the boat in the back then you will get a ton of the splash and whiplash. Some of the kids that were sitting on the inside of the boat were complaining that they didn't get any water/splash.
We did the combo ticket that also included the nomad safari. I would highly recommend doing this as well! We got to drive through the water and onto skipper's canyon with our guide Jenny!

What an exhilarating 25 minutes on a jet boat. Very scenic going through the canyon and hair raising due to proximity of boat and rocks (all part of the ride of course). The skipper (Andy) was very skilful at giving us a thrilling and fun ride yet you felt safe with him at the helm. I'd do it again!

I also have lower back disc problems. If you brace yourself firmly and push yourself into the seat, you should be OK. They make some 360 degree turns, but the skipper will give you a warning. I came through it OK, it's a lot of fun

Kia ora Rachel, other than the minimum height 1m (up to 1.2m in some conditions), no, we don't. However, the person must be able to fit one of our lifejackets (we have a huge selection from childrens to XXXL).
