Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the original bridge where AJ Hackett set up his first commercial bungy jump**Kawarau Bridge. Overcome your fear, free fall 43m and touch the crystal blue water of the river below just before you get pulled up. The operators will ask you if you wish to touch the water. This activity is extremely well organized. Meet at the office in Queenstown, get checked in, they drive you to the Kawarau bridge or Nevis jump, inform you exactly of what's expected and show you where to go to check out your video and pics ($45 for pics $45 for the video). $205 is the fee for the jump and transportation. **Bonus-they give you a free t-shirt!

What can we say? A life experience that you will not soon forget. Sure, it takes a bit of time to get to the site, but leaping into the vastness of space and plunging nearly 400 feet while hanging upside down is worth it. Seriously the most challenging part is shuffling out to the deck, seeing nothing but mountains in front of you and a river WAAAAAYYYY down below, and letting yourself fly like an eagle. Even if you can't remember it all, the video will clue you in to exactly how bada** you were when you made that jump. Jumpmasters are awesome, and the pounding music in the suspended box got everyone totally pumped for the experience. And, hey, make sure you DIVE when you leave the platform. You'll get kudos for your form. Enjoy!

This was my first jump, as the original home of the bungy, i should have expected nothing less, but it was so friendly and professional, it helps to take away some of the outright fear!
The bungy centre is kind of funky, and every team member I spoke to was so laid back and friendly, it really helps.
The jump itself was incredible, slick organisation so you're not hanging around (pun totally intended), and a superb setting from the bridge across the gorge.
The video/pics pack is not cheap, but im glad I went for it. They really do it well, with a before and after video, and numerous cameras to capture the whole thing, which is nicely edited into a 90sec video. The prints pack is also done well, plus you get a t-shirt and a certificate.
One of the best things I've ever done, big thanks to the team, you're awesome 😊

I was having a great day. I could not wait to get to do the freefall. But when I was purchasing tickets I was charged for the wrong trip. I asked for a refund but I was told no. after asking to see the gm(general manager) I was greeted by a kind-looking man.
he told me that he couldn't give me a refund because I paid with a card! after asking him why he refused to give me a good explanation. he later then said, "listen I don't have time to listen to you so either go on the trip or F-ck off"! I ended up leaving with a refund after talking to another person and I left. Everyone was amazing except for that a-shole.

The entire experience was phenomenal and the staff at the Kawarau Bungy Center was outstanding. A big shout out to Natalia for being particularly awesome into making the entire experience a memorable one for our family. A little pricey would be the only drawback, especially once you include pictures/videos. Nevertheless, after a total of four jumps at Kawarau Bridge, one jump at Nevis, and one tandem Nevis Swing, the exhilarating thrills left smiles on our faces! Highly recommend the experience to everyone.

You can't come to Queenstown and NOT do this. Heart pumping and amazing. Yes it is quite expensive (about $250 with video) but it's an experience you will NEVER forget. Well organized, but, allow a couple of hours when busy. My jump was booked for 9.30am and after waiting in queue I did not jump until 10.20.

I went with my husband who was doing the Canyon Swing. I too had to fill in the disclaimer, no problem with that. I was allowed into the harness area too. The team who were there with my husband were awesome, the guy who was in the harness area was brilliant at keeping me calm.
My husband loved it and would love to do it again, he felt totally safe at all times. We went for the photo and video package. Not expensive and so worth having.
Thank you to all the staff at Shot Over Canyon Swing.

My partner and I did the Kawarau Bungy, and it was honestly the greatest experience of my life. I personally am not afraid of this kind of thing and it was so much fun for me, being able to have control and throw yourself off a bridge (safely of course) was the most fun I’ve had in ages. My partner (who is terrified of heights) also really enjoyed the thrill.
The staff there and at the Queenstown centre are all extremely good at what they do, being both encouraging to those who struggle with fear, and edging on those who don’t.
Would do it again in a heart beat.

We stopped here because we saw it on travel shows. It is fun to watch the amateurs try the bungy jumps. The viewing area makes it easy to see them jump and you can walk on the bridge. The views are beautiful and we would recommend walking the trails towards the Gibbston Winery.

I never leave reviews, in fact this is my first one. However, the Nevis Swing deserves one!
I've always had a fear of heights, and I was having moments of severe anxiety in the days leading up to the swing.
The booking was simple, and the bungy bus was a really nice ride, upon arrival I was awestruck art the shear scale of the canyon. We disembarked, were checked in, and harnessed up.
The walk out to the platform was scary enough, legs went to jelly. Watched a few people go before me. When it was my turn I couldn't do it at first, but there was no pressure from the crew, they gave me the time I needed to compose myself, and they were great at keeping me calm.
The moment the swing released was fantastic, the drop was amazing, I was left in shear euphoria at the bottom, it was as if my brain had undergone a 'factory reset', it was awesome.
I'd totally recommend anyone to do this, you won't be disappointed, the staff are fabulous, and the feeling is special.
Thanks to the AJ Hackett team for helping me to somewhat conquer my greatest fear. I'll be back next year for sure!

For Nevis Swing, it says allow for 4 hours. Is this from the booked time or the check-in time (30 minutes before)?
Written 2 August 2022
For us, check in time was 8:10AM. Departure at 8:40. Jumped at 10:30. Left the facility at 11:05. Back to the departure location just after 11:45.

I have neck problem..I have 2 extra bone on my neck..when men do bungy feel extra presure on their neck..can I do bungy with my problem.
Written 17 October 2019
Hi there, it depends how active you currently are with your neck problem, if it still causes you pain etc. Bungy Jumping is very smooth on the body generally and we are able to give you instructions specifically to look after your neck however if you are concerned we recommend you seek advice and clearance from your doctor/ physio that knows your specific condition well. Hopefully we can see you soon! Cheers :)

Is there an option to jump again on the same day for a reduced fee after your first jump, or do you have to pay a second time around?
Written 14 February 2019
Hi! Yes, there is an option for a second jump at a lower price. Second jump prices are individual to the specific sites. Ask our crew on the day for all the details!

Hi,
If I do a tandem bungy jump, then am I supposed to book photo/video only for one person or for two? Since it's a tandem jump, both will be there in one frame anyway.
Kindly advise.
Written 5 January 2019
Hi there!
For a tandem jump you will both be in the Photos and Video we take so only one Photo and/or Video pack is required. If you are wanting Printed Photos, the price is for one printed set only.
Cheers!
Written 21 January 2019
Hey Matthew, absolutely! Since this is at your own risk we recommend that you secure it to your wrist so that you don't drop it. Cheers!

How long does the actual ride on the Nevis Swing take? I understand altogether with the van ride it's approximately 4 hours.
Written 14 February 2018
The time on the swing itself is about 3-4 minutes.
Have fun!
Written 15 February 2018
How long will the Nevis Bungy and swing take 2 people? Will it be four hours total or four hours for the Bungy and an additional 4 hours for the swing?
Written 13 December 2017
Hi Lexy, that's four hours total (return trip). Cheers!
