This is a great place for relaxing, entertaining kids or killing a few hours until the footy at Rugby Park. Big playground, lots of paths through old pines, gardens, cafe etc. Also golf, croquet and a small museum.

Both free parking and free entry at various points. Wheelchair access to nearly all of the park. Toilets at various spots. Great place to take the kids. Excellent place to have a picnic, or to find a secluded spot and read a book. Dog friendly park. A nice collection of birds including Antipodean Island parakeets, kaka, kea and kakariki. Also... This may be the southern most Park in the world and its just gorgeous! The rose garden and the olde rose garden behind the museum are fabulous, the duck pond with the cute bridge, the huge trees, band rotunda, gardens from all round the world, and it's a great place for a decent walk. Great playground for children and lots... More

What a beautiful garden to lose yourself in for a few hours. The plantings were stunning with many surprises around each bend. Thoroughly wonderful way to exercise and take time to smell the roses.

If you have spare time, go there. But if you have better locations to visit, don't make effort going to this park, as it is average from all point of views.

Our friends recommended that we detour into the garden when we visited the neighbouring museum. We wandered through and really enjoyed our quick visit. The gardens are lush and well laid out. The children's play area is extensive and includes water features should it ever be hot enough in Invercagill for them to be used (there were children using them... More

My best childhood memories where of going to Queens Park with my Mother and having our lunch beside the little waterfall. The playground is a lot larger now and definitely better. i was saddened to go there one evening and find beer bottles and used condoms all around the swings. Maybe there should be some sort of night time policing.... More
