Awesome place to visit. It is a bit of a walk back, and be prepared for heat or wind! Remote but well cared for track, can feel a bit slippery on the gravel going down, so take care. Not only is the landscape stunning, but...More

I recommend this walk for some great views if you are a fairly active person. This is not a walk to take your grandmother on because it's quite steep and you need to have a fair amount of strength/fitness to not only walk down the...More

This beach is a wonderful carved landscale, at once wild and manufactured. Check the tides for your visit, but enjoy the private beach of William Cargill's daughter, wrought with an arched tunnel and doorway in the rock. This is a great place for views across...More

Amazing when you see the tunnel and walk down it. Hard to believe it was all hand carved those years ago. The beach itself is like a movie set, so tranquil and beautiful. Not for the faint hearted as I am unfit. Would recommend a...More

A great place to visit and certainly unique...just be prepared for the not so gentle slope of circa a kilometre or 2 down hill, with little grip. It is well sign posted, and easy family access, just wear shoes with grip!

Tunnel beach is some 15 minute drive away from Dunedin CBD, and requires you to walk down a steep track. I had seen some photos of the place before the visit, but when seeing it in real life, I was glad that I walked down...More

Well worth the effort and walk down to a special place on the coast, the scenery is breathtaking and a delight to behold. Unfortunately the walk back up is a little taxing but worth the effort.

Caution the walk from the car park down to tunnel beach can be a little steep and slippery in some places BUT the views well worth it.
