The Avon River is very pretty and seems very clean but I must say I was expecting something slightly bigger. I would describe it as a creek. Having said that, definately worth a look as it is one of those postcard locations

The River Avon, named after the river in Scotland, is a pleasant stream running through the middle of Christchurch. One can stroll or picnic or sit along its banks, or go punting and have an oarsman row you around. Lots of nice trees by the river as well, so a pleasant place to walk.

Not much to be said about a river but this runs through the city and gives a nice peace to the place. There is a list of artworks to be found in the city and a few are in here, Nice to walk along on a sunny day.

This river is a lovely place to walk along or to sit beside. There is an opportunity to ride on a punt long the river ( punting done by young men dressed in Edwardian dress)

The river flows through the centre of Christchurch. A green route to take on a easy and peaceful walk . You can end up in the botanical gardens.

We didn't personally have a punt on the Avon but were happy watching those who did, plus canoeists and dogs running in and out of the water chasing sticks.

This is a very gentle river that has a nice green space to walk along. Several wonderful old iron bridges span the river.
