Rutherford's Den at the Arts Centre. Television, radio, sonar and telephones - just some of the great inventions we enjoy today thanks to the scientific discoveries made by Ernest, Lord Rutherford and his peers. Step inside Rutherford's Den and enjoy fun, hands-on activities as you learn about science in the actual rooms where Rutherford studied

You have the tourist information centre in the middle and restaurants and other exhibits. For the scientists see the Nobel prize winning Rutherford den.

I loved this years ago when I lived in ChCh and I feared the worst with initial reports following the earthquakes. I'm delighted to see the rebuild in progress (see photos) and the schedule for progressive reopening. I will review progress as I revisit.

This is a good place to find the art and handiwork of some of the many fine artists and craftspeople in Christchurch. For now it is in temporary quarters but easy to find along Worchester Boulevard.
