It's the ultimate Antarctic adventure! Experience the dramatic seasonal lighting in the four seasons of Antarctica show where it 'snows' every 6 minutes. Venture out on to 'the ice' from Scott Base to play in 'Antarctica' the snow & ice experience and survive an Antarctic storm! How long can you hold your hand in the icy Antarctic water? Hang out with Little Blue Penguins, buckle up for the famously exciting Hagglund ride, take an awesome simulated 4D Antarctic cruise, watch Happy Feet 4D, then watch a stunning movie on a MASSIVE screen! It's the closest you'll get to Antarctica without mounting your own expedition!

We found this to be both interesting and fun. The live penguins are adorable. We went back a second time as it is an easy walk from the airport.

Well worth the admission fee loads to do and see with the highlights being the penguin feeding, Haggulund (all terrain vehicle) ride, storm simulator and seeing the huskies (only available Fri-Sun check website for availability). Also included in the price is a free shuttle from the cntre of Christchurch (located at the museum).

My husband and I went today and enjoyed it. We went through all the exhibits, watched the penguin feeding, rode on the special Arctic vehicles around the obstacle course and watched one of the 4D shows. Very informative and could spend ages if we read and explored everything available. Great for kids and families, anyone who is interested in science... More

Pretty expensive day out, but it IS a day out, we got there early about 9.30 which was very good, but we were still needing to wait until 11.30 to attend the final attraction we were booked in for. Lots and Lots of tour buses go through which can bottle neck exhibits at times, which is why the prebooking of... More

This is a must see attraction. From the Antartic Storm to the Hagglund ride was amazing hands on experience. Make sure you do all the activities including the penguin exhibit. If you go on the right days you get to meet and pat the huskies.. which are beautiful. Even those that don't like rides you have to do the Hagglund... More

After having a years worth of pleading from the kids, we finally paid the extortionate price for tickets expecting to have a great afternoon, unfortunately that was not the case and every activity was a let down and even the kids were bored. Not good value for money even with the local 20% discount, I would not recommend this at... More

I visited on a Saturday afternoon with my 12-year old nephew. It was his first visit and he loved it. We paid for the General Admission which was $59 adults, $29 children (compared with the Xpress Admission $39 adults and $19) - this would normally entitle us to unlimited Hagglund rides and unlimited 4D movies. Given that the 4D movie... More

My mom and I went here early morning when they opened and it was a fantastic morning. We spent 3 hours here exploring all the exhibits and really taking in the awe of the early antarctic explorers and what they did and had. The hagguland ride was quite cool, seeing how much those vehicles can handle is interesting, they aren't... More

This is well worth a visit for all ages. The attraction is engaging and interactive throughout, and informative on everything Antarctic. Highlights were the trip on the ice truck outside, and the 4D cinema experience. Exhibitions on the early explorers are also particularly interesting. Easy to get to from the city centre, just take the free shuttle from outside the... More
