Fantail falls was a bit boring, but it’s not about the falls. Because of the flat river bed stones surrounding the falls, visitors over time have built hundreds of little monuments. It’s absolutely amazing. Well worth s visit. Car park can be full, it’s only...More

A relatively small but beautiful waterfall a short walk from the parking - a great place to pause, maybe even picnic and to take in the views. You’re on a scenic drive - you need to stop and look at the scenery.

This waterfall is just a two minute walk from the carpark. It's shaped like a fantail. Lots of stones in the foreground with many built into small cairns. In the end, though, it's another waterfall.

This is a beautiful waterfall right along side the road. The walk is less than 5 minutes. It is a great way to take a break from driving. You can also walk up or down the river and enjoy the scenery.

This unique shaped waterfall taken after the fantail bird is a must see. It is a short walk from the carpark and can you can go right down to the river bank to get a closer view of the waterfall. Nice detour and beautiful scenery.

These falls are okay. It is literally a two minute flat walk from the parking lot to the falls. They are nice but less dramatic tha the Roaring Billy Falls which were my favorite along this road.

One of the lookout point on our list, this 23-meter waterfall is very easily accessible from the carpark, only requires a 2-minutes walk. Surrounded by many pebbles and a beautiful stream.

Nice waterfall, easy walk from car park. Ideal for young children. Would recommend to stop for this break on the road trip

You can see the falls from the road but why not stop and stretch your legs and breathe in some fresh mountain air

This was another stop between Haast and Queenstown after Thunder Falls. The falls to fantail out, however on the river bank people have built small cairns by balancing rocks on rocks. There are little cairns all around the river banks, which we added to.
