I have been going to Social Cooking's shows for over 3 years now and the team delivers every time! It's always a blast and we end up enjoying restaurant-quality food and having a heaps of laughs.

Host/CEO: 0/10 Professionalism: 1/10 Ingredients: 2/10 Team building: 8/10 Support staff: 10/10 We came here for a team building exercise with our company. Everyone was really excited and fired up, until the host/CEO Graham Bloxham started to "host" us for the evening. He was obnoxious, a total sleaze with our female staff (a really touchy feely guy), abusive towards our... More

I went to Social Cooking not knowing what to expect, and being pleasantly surprised. I was welcomed in to the space with happy faces and a glass of white wine. I enjoyed my time and felt like I learned a good bit on how to make pasta!

Social Cooking was a spontaneous decision for a Saturday night out, but I was highly impressed. We made fish tortellini pasta from scratch (which was quite exciting - I've never made pasta before!) and it turned out fantastic. The chef was hilarious and the instructions were easy to follow and very timely. I went with a friend, but I'll definitely... More

A load of hilarity with work mates but ... host seems to think he is Gordon Ramsay and had license to abuse, appreciate that this is kind of the idea but borders on, maybe beyond, arrogant. Fun once, would not return.

There is so much potential at this location but sadly I left feeling ripped off. How they can charge so much for such basic ingredients I don't know and it was so badly set up. Had to keep asking for clarification from the hosts - they basically ignored us and then at the end of the night said "our job... More

If you want to pay too much for a poor experience, this is the place to go. We went as a hens night to do cupcakes and gingerbread. Were told the wine would be villa maria, but instead were given bottles of lindauer. These were handed out and topped up as if they were part of the deal but no,... More

Group cooking is a great team activity but I'd suggest that Wellingtonians look elsewhere. The "chef" gave a condescending presentation. The recipe was very basic. Ingredients were VERY poor quality - dried herbs, not fresh; El cheapo balsamic and olive oil; jars of minced garlic; etc. Dessert was basic - supermarket meringue and a solitary strawberry. All this cost about... More

We recently attended a tasting and food quiz night at Social Cooking. Though the night looked like it would be fun on paper, in reality it would have been best if we just stayed home and did not waste our money. Upon arrival we were provided with what initially appeared to be a complimentary glass of wine or beer. Only... More

So far not at all happy. I booked a cupcake class around 2 months prior, to receive an email 3 days before the class, saying due to low enrollment the class will be shifted from this Saturday to next Saturday. As I was already busy the following Saturday, I requested a refund. I was told no, and they would rather... More
