Off a cruise and decided on the walking tour. Start point was the visitor information centre. Firstly whilst walking to the centre I came across multiple helpers for tourists helping tourists find their desired location. Quite impressive. These people are great. When you arrive in a town with no familiarity you look for places like this. People are all over town and I think they are volunteers but love their job. They give you cost counsel and are really optimistic and just helpful. If you have any questions, need a map, want to learn about the gems... More

While in Wellington we visited the Visitor Information Centre and every time we got either sufficient information or advice. It's a must for a tourist.

Dropped in and very helpful and not just with visitor information but also if your struggling with accommodation ideas and also have maps and public transport information.

As with all i-Site locations in NZ, it contains very useful information, maps, etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Be sure to stop at them regularly on your travels in NZ.

For those of you new to New Zealand the I-sites are the information headquarter for all travelors each major town has one and they can provide you with maps, bookings, lodging, advise etc.....

There is a lot to look at in Wellington and it is most peoples first stop if travelling from the South Island. These are the people who know and can advise you on what to do and opening times.
