From the outside it looks great. On the inside - meh... The videos were informative. The geyser was great. The kids liked pushing buttons but really for the price I would have expected more. Te Papa in Wellington does it better and is free.

A VERY small attraction - 1 room plus a theatre for videos. For our family entry fee - I feel ripped off. Good info but wont entertain young kids. Did make me reflect on nz quake toll.

Lots to learn and discover. A must see for anyone who loves nature and natural happenings. Interesting videos playing and fun riding the earthquake shake house.

I went here on my honeymoon but now, the movies have improved in quality and more has been added. There are lots of interactive exhibits.

This interactive museum gives lots of information on geology and vulcanic processes. If you do not know much about it, go for it! They have many movies and a cabin which simulates an earthquake. But still 12$ is a bit much for the small room where everything is placed in.

We were really excited to come in here but didn't feel it was the best value for money. there was only one room and other than the earthquake room nothing outstanding for our daughter. they didn't have water while we were there so the geyser wasn't working and the lady at the front desk mentioned the toilets so weren't keen... This was a great place to stop in with the kids, who really enjoyed playing with the interactive educational displays, watching the geyser erupt and loved the various videos & cinema. I learned a great deal myself and wish i could go back (without the kids!) so i could take my time through the whole centre to read the additional... More

Our 7 year old begged us to stop and go in, but it was a little disappointing on the inside. It was informative but could do with a little update.
