I haven't visited the craters for 30 years and my memory must be playing tricks. There are very few mud pools to be viewed. Lots of steam but very controlled with a defined boardwalk most of the way around. I was a little disappointed. But I think the $8 adult entry fee is fair.

This was not a must-see attraction. It's a very nice walk and the natural phenomenon of mud pools and geothermal activity is cool to witness but this could be boring for unless they like geology. The self guided tour is only $8 and you can take your time which is really nice. The signs are becoming faded though.

what an amazing experience. We spent several hours here looking around and then getting our hand stamped so we could have a picnic outside then come back in again. Apart from a slope at the start of the walk the paths are easy and well signposted. You can also go up a higher slope and get an overall view which is... More

We spent about an hour and 20 minutes hiking around the craters of the moon park. If you haven't been around did you thermal area, it's a wonderful place to get a feel for the power of the earth. It's run by volunteers who keep the walkways and facilities up beautifully. We did the whole loop including the Overlook portion... More

This was a nice easy walk through the crater of natural geysers. It has a walkway up to a lookout point where you can overview the entire crater and beyond.

Been a while since we were here - it used to be free - but we were very disappointed in the lack of bubbling mud pools -there were virtually none today - just steam. Not worth $8 adult admission in my view and unless there is some dramatic increase in the geothermal activity I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Very easy going trail! The price wasn't bad and you could walk around for however long you wanted. We did this walk in the morning so it wasn't crowded and very relaxing to see.
