We took the boat tour out to the carvings and we really enjoyed it. Staff were great and the captain had lots of good information for us. Definitely a win!

Our group joined Pete and his crew on a rainy afternoon for lunch and we all had a fabulous time! Jackie and Dana could do anything that was needed (as could Pete!) and as a result we had a top lunch and ended up catching 6 or 7 beautiful rainbow trout. Would highly recommend it to any group or family... More

We went out thinking we would do a little fishing and some clay bird shooting, we came back in 4 hours later laughing, full of good food, and great memories to chat about for weeks to come. The crew were exceptionally accommodating to our various quirks, our vegan staff member was catered to very well and was impressed with her... More

We did the 5:00pm sunset cruise which visited the Maori rock carvings. Firstly be aware it isn't a 'sunset cruise' as the sun doesn't set until two hours after you return! You sit inside a cabin at a table with the door closed looking out the window at the lake with a tiny plastic glass of cheap wine. We asked... More

Easy cruising and great to let you enjoy the views of this beautiful town. They take you to see a huge Maori Carving and there's time for plenty of photos. Really enjoyed it.

Our trip on Lake Taupo formed part of a family reunion. It was a 3 hour trip on a basic, but comfortable and safe boat with a very friendly crew. Although the lake was rough and quite a wind was blowing, we headed to the Maori rock carvings which were very impressive and then fished from the boat. Three youngsters... More

Thank-you for your review Richard, we appreciate hearing your thoughts and pleased you were able to add this trip as part of your family reunion. Catching trout is always exciting, especially for the young ones and makes for a tasty treat on board. We look forward to seeing you again one day. More

It was a very unseasonably cold and windy day in Lake Taupo when we had allocated time for our scenic cruise. I think this must have put quite a few people off because the marina was very quiet. I called the day before to register for the 10.30am cruise. Turned out we were the only ones, but instead of cancelling... More

We booked the cruise but we're a bit hesitant to go due to bad weather: strong wind and rain. However, our worries disappeared once we were on the boat (catamaran to be exact). We did not feel much rocking (as we expected) due to the waves. The crew was very experienced and informative about our trip. We even watched one... More

Your comments are appreciated, thank-you! The size and nature of Cruise Cat does make it a great option for this cruise - even on the 'bad weather days' Our skippers and staff make your comfort and safety paramount and seeing a trout caught is an added bonus. So pleased you enjoyed the experience. More

Nice cruise in the bay, informative commentary, friendly staff. The carvings were underwhelming though. The captain spent plenty of time there, making sure everyone had a good look and photo opportunities.

What a way to spend our last day in New Zealand. Captain Pete and his first mate were both outstanding. Between trolling, catching and enjoying fresh trout, visiting the Maori carvings, kayaking and shooting skeet, we enjoyed a full day on the lake. Boat was great with lots of room to spread out and relax. Only issue might have been... More
